Tennessee – In a proclamation issued on November 10, 2008, Governor Phil Bredesen encouraged all citizens to join him in observing Civil Air Patrol Week December 1-7, 2008. Civil Air Patrol was founded Dec. 1, 1941, by a group of aviation enthusiasts and private pilots who wanted to donate their time and aircraft to protect the nation’s coastlines during World War II and to perform other critical civil defense missions. Welcome to the new website for the Tennessee Wing. This site represents a new way for our wing to share and manage information. There will be areas for every unit and group in the wing as well as the functional areas like operations and safety. This new system allows the people responsible for the information edit and post in their own areas. The forum areas provide a place for discussion of topics important to Civil Air Patrol members here in Tennessee.
